These light switch plates are made from locally-sourced materials that give each piece a unique expression. During the building process, used coffee grinds are wedged into porcelain to give it structure. They allow the clay to dry more evenly, leaving imprints after burning away in the kiln. The glaze is made from wood ash from a pizza oven and porcelain slip, which gives the clay a subtle warm white colour.

These plates are made from rolled slabs, revealing the process of stretching  and compression during fabrication. The collection of switch plates are vailable in 1-4 gangs, and are compatible with toggle light switches, rocker switches, and GFCI outlets. Custom configurations and additional gangs can be made upon request.
